So, you're ready to take the plunge into the edgy, high fashioned look of icy blonde hair.  Here are are a few tips to keep in mind before you start nicknaming yourself Queen Elsa.

1. Shock Factor

Going all over blonde, or what us professionals call a "Bleach and Tone", is not for the faint of heart. It is one of the most dramatic transformations, and will demand attention. Be ready!

2. Let the Pros Handle It

Bleaching your hair is a very delicate process! It can severely damage your hair if not done properly, and can also result in some not so coveted yellowy hues if not kept to the professionals.  Come on in, and let us take charge.

3. Tone is Key

There are MANY different colors for blonde. Make sure you consult with your stylist for the shade that is best for you. To have that icy, platinum blonde, maintaining it with a purple/blue shampoo is ideal. This will help keep it bright in between appointments.

4. Roots are your friend...or enemy!

Depending on how dark your natural hair color is, you will start seeing root regrowth in a couple of weeks. I think platinum hair with a couple weeks of regrowth looks stellar, but it's really a personal preference. Don't go over 4 weeks in between appointments to ensure a seamless beautiful blonde!

5. Give your hair some TLC

You're hair may feel different after diving into the platinum world, but don't worry, there are ways to give it some love without sacrificing your new bombshell look. Avoid heat on the hair as much as possible. For those heat styling tool junkies, try turning the temperature down or avoid some of the heat by air drying your hair. Cutting back on heat, while adding weekly deep conditioning masques like Kérastase's Masque Force Architecte, will help keep your hair feeling and looking incredible!
